Megasorber engines can develop customised soundproofing solutions to assist you with your building and construction projects in noise control areas such as:

The Megasorber reverberant control products provide excellent sound absorption with great design flexibility—they can be hung up as banners, baffles and framed panels.

The applications below highlight just a few of our soundproofing solutions. Talk to us about a custom solution to meet your needs.

Reducing Reverberation (Echo) Noise

Best solution: Megasorber FG100 or Megasorber P100
Second best solution: Megasorber FG50 or Megasorber P50
Economic solution: Megasorber FG25 or Megasorber P25
Budget solution: Megasorber PNG8

Applications: halls, music rooms, stadiums, restaurants, offices, call centres.

Megasorber P and Megasorber FG are the new generation of sound absorption materials for building acoustics. Megasorber has developed a unique fireproof sound absorbing material called Soundmesh G8 (patent applied for) for these products.

Soundmesh G8 is one of the very few acoustic materials that achieves the Building Code Australia (BCA) Group 1 Fire Classification. Combined with thermally bonded polyester, Megasorber P has BCA (Building Code of Australia) Group 2 Classification with Average Specific Extinction Area less than 250 m2/kg.

Soundmesh® G8 (white) is being used here as both an acoustic curtain to reduce the reverberant noise and a shade curtain to block out direct sunlight.

Reduction of Noise through Wall Partitions

Megasorber DIS8 is a self-adhesive isolation and vibration-damping sheet. It is used to increase the sound transmission loss (Rw) of stud walls by sandwiching it between two layers of plaster boards.

The photos below show the installation of Megasorber DIS8 into a stud wall between two cancer medical consulting rooms. Patients and doctors had complained that they could clearly hear the conversation from the adjoining room through the wall.  After the installation of DIS8 this problem was solved, and doctors and patients could talk privately in a quiet atmoshere.

Rain Noise Reduction for Metal Roof

Colourbond roofing panels are usually very thin (about 0.5mm) and tend to generate high noise when impacted by heavy rain. To maintain the light-weight advantage of the metal roofing system, Megasorber light-weight damping materials absorb raindrop impact noise without adding much weight.

Both Megasorber D14 and Megasorber LD5 are widely used and the typical noise reduction is between 8dB(A) to 10dB(A). In addition, the damping materials help to increase the sound transmission loss of the roofing system. As the consultants put it, "we can kill two birds with one stone" by using Megasorber's damping products.
